Rose Wine

I had a bottle of Rose Wine this Christmas, someone bring it along for the party. It is a Black Tower Rose 2005. As rose wine this is pinkish in colour. On the wine label it says that this is a deliciously fresh wine from the Rhine Valley provided by the Portugieser and Dornfelder grapes. This is one of the few Rose Wines that I had tasted as my favorite is for Red Wines.

This experience is not a very memorable one as the first deep breathe into the wine did not attract my attention. It has a very faint smell of fruits or may be there isn't at all. However, as I slowly had a sip of it and let it rest in my mouth, I could taste a little refreshing cool delicated strawberry and raspbery flavours. This is very faint and no way compared to any red wine. However, as it is what a Rose wine should be, it is light so this may be enjoyed by non wine drinkers.

This is pretty plain wine and is easy to drink. Best served when well chilled.

Wine Bottle Vacuum Sealer

We know that oxidation will take place and your wine will turn awful. This ocurrs when the oxygen in the wine bottle get in touch with the wine. So to prevent or minimise oxidation, we should remove the air in the bottle.

Now you can do so without having to manually pump up and down to remove the air inside the bottle. The battery operated wine bottle vacuum sealer is a breakthrough in technology that allow you to do this with the least effort.

Just place the neck of the wine bottle, guide over the inserted sure-seal stopper, push down gently and the battery operated pump automatically removes the air that breaks down flavor. The stopper tab lets you know when the vacuum seal is activated and the red ring disappears when the seal is complete

It is this simple, place the sealed wine bottle in the refrigerator to be consumed the next day without losing its charm.

Get a Cork Jet Pump as a Christmas Gift

Another essential tool for wine lover is the cork jet pump. This is a battery operated pump that uses a small gas cartridge that releases gas through the needle and the pressure pushes the cork out. In this way, the cork is removed automatically without you having to twist and turn till the cork breaks.

The whole process of opening a bottle of red wine is made so simple, just insert the needle, push the button, and watch the cork pop out instantly without any effort. You may do a search via the internet and buy in online. It cost about US$25 to US$30.

Using the traditional way, I am always very clumsy in opening a wine bottle, but with this, opening a bottle is really easy.

Wine Bottle Stopper

At times, we are unable to finish the whole bottle of wine and may keep it for the next day consumption. Do you realise that once the bottle is opened, you longer can fix back the cork back into the mouth of the bottle.

To put an open bottle into the refrigerator is a definite no to keeping wine. Never do so as oxidation will take place and your wine will turn awful.

Even the small amount of oxygen in a tightly closed bottle will also affect the quality of wine. So, to keep the wine, we need to ensure as little oxygen as possible contact with the wine.

To close the bottle, you can always get a wine bottle stopper. Nowadays, there are many colourful and interesting bottle stoppers available. They range from a few dollars to the more expensive ones. Whatever it is, their function is to prevent oxygen from entering the bottle to further deteriorate the wine. Do get one at home and put it on when you need to place the bottle back into the refrigerator.

Harveys Bristol Cream Sherry is all time favourite

Harveys Bristol Cream Sherry is the most recognised Sherry wine in the United States as well as in the world. They originated from Spain and come with a very unique blue bottle. Harveys has produced fine Spanish Sherry from Jerez region of Spain since 1796.

This is amber red in colour and has a deep fragrant of carameal. It taste like rasins and roasted nuts, full in body and finishes subtly spicy. Harvey Bristol Cream can be served chilled at about 13C or have it on the rock.

I will recommend you to try this if you are looking for a Sherry wine. Harvey Bristol Cream stands out from the rest of the Sherry and is best served well chilled as an aperitif, a drink straight after dinner.

This could be more expensive than some sherries, but I find this worth the price.

American's Wine Favourite

Do you know what is the favourite wine of Americans? I am surprise to read about a survey based on industry sources from hundreds of interview with restaurants, distributors, importer and wineries throughout the United States release their findings that Americans prefer cheap and fun wines.

The listing is issued by Restaurant Wine, a trade journal based in Napa, Calif…. The survey showed that 52 of the top 60 wines ordered were American. In their wine ranking the merlot came in 20th and the cabernet placed 47th.
